Raise The Bar Entertainment is a record label started by Shamel "Barz Banga" Thomas in 2021. With the vision of bringing his own music to the world in an independent and creative way, he now endeavors to highlight the plethora of talent that he has come across and worked with. Raise The Bar is headquartered in Western New York and endeavors to bring a variety of different sounds for the listener's enjoyment.

Barz Banga's Story
Born in Brooklyn, New York in the late 70's, Barz grew up as the oldest of three boys. The crack era hit in his mid-adolescence and completely obliterated his family structure. Through creative writing, he found his way to escape the harsh realities that surrounded him. In 1995, Barz was incarcerated for accessory to Murder and eventually sentenced to 15 years to life in New York State Prisons. He was 19 years old. He was released after serving 17 years into a new world that held completely new challenges. He persevered with his resilience and went on to found Raise The Bar Entertainment LLC, a record label dedicated to not only bringing his vision of producing good music, but fostering the vision of other talented musicians.
Da Joker's Story
Da Joker was born in Buffalo, New York and raised in a single parent household by his mother. Growing up, he experienced physical abuse as a child. By the age of 11, he was already in the system, living in group homes. By the age of 17, he was homeless in the streets of South Buffalo for most of the 90's. His passion for hip-hop and telling his story through rhymes was the guiding factor that got him through his hardships. Today, Da Joker is a revered mentor and marketing expert, sharing his wisdom to those who endeavor to make money off their passion for music. He is the host of two podcasts and is set to release a highly anticipated EP with Brooklyn artist Barz Banga. Their second single is set to be released on Raise The Bar Entertainment on June 10th.
